Commemoration Projects
The sacrifices and contributions of Second World War Métis Veterans remain largely unknown throughout Canada. The Commemoration Program intends to honour, respect, and preserve their legacy by supporting and fostering awareness initiatives focused on Second World War Métis Veterans amongst the Métis Nation and the Canadian public.
Eligible Recipients
Those eligible to apply for funding include:
- Métis Nation Citizens
- Recognized Métis Nation Government, organizations, and institutes
- Other Recognized Organizations & Institutes
NOTE: Canadian citizens, and Canadian organizations and institutes are required to partner with a Métis Nation citizen or a recognized Métis Nation organization or institute, and must be able to demonstrate the ability to achieve the mandate of the program
Eligible Projects
Examples of eligible projects include:
Remembrance Day initiatives
National Aboriginal Veterans Day initiatives
Memorials and monuments
Commemorative ceremonies and events
Métis Veteran research papers, art installations, scholarships, books, and any other initiatives of similar sort
How to Apply
The MVLP is inviting those interested to complete the form below. Once the from has been reviewed the applicant will be notified and be asked to submit their proposal following the terms and conditions as set out by the MVLP. Once a project has been approved, a contribution agreement will be established between the applicant and the MVLP outlining the terms and conditions.
